2018 ALCaholics Kit Design

A full bicycle kit design for Team ALCaholics for the 2018 AIDS/Lifecycle Ride. This is a 7 day fundraising event where over 2500 people bike from San Francisco to Los Angeles to increase awareness about HIV/AIDS and to help the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center raise funds for their yearly programming.

Fundraisers often organize themselves into teams—this kit was my fourth for Team ALCaholics and the design plays off of a simplified bicycle spoke.

The concept centered on spokes radiated out from a common point, but each spoke is part of a greater whole—representative of how riders depart each morning on their own, but all with a common purpose and destination. These colors are a continued exploration of the neon palette used in 2017, but with a desert theme in mind, making the kit very eye-catching on the road and evocative of the rider’s time biking through California’s arid central region.
